attention Car Clubs, Motorcycle Clubs, and all car and motorcycle enthusiasts:

The Date of this years Wapato Showdown is Saturday, August 21st. This is our 14th car show and 7th YEAR WITH motorcycles included in the show.  Great Cars and Bikes are the reason we come together, and great cars and bikes are what come to the Wapato Showdown!

The day will start with the Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast, with all proceeds benefiting the Gaston Volunteer Fire Department. Breakfast starts at 6:30 am and ends at 10:30 am.

Registration begins, at the gate, as soon as you arrive, which should be no earlier than 6:30 am, AND ends at 12 noon. Photos and parking begin as you arrive. If there are friends or clubs that want to park together, let us know and we will do our best to ACCOMMODATE EVERYONE. The food booths will open at 10:30 am.  the beer and wine garden will open at noon, and remain open until all activities cease. The best pipes contest for cars and motorcycles begins at 1:00 pm, and we’ll have our usual classes (4,6,8 cycl and open headers).  Trophy presentation begins at 3:00 pm. There also will be a trophy class for cars ‘under construction’.  our sponsors pick their favorite cars or bikes and award up to 100 trophies. The winner of The Peoples Choice award will appear on next years t-shirt, and will receive a custom fitted Letterman Jacket. Parr Lbr. Co., our MAJOR SPONSOR, will present the Platinum trophy. The Club Participation Trophy plus $5 a car goes to the club with the most cars displayed.

The “cars for sale corral” will be back this year at $10 per car, but these vehicles will not be eligible for trophies or goody bags.

Camping is available at the field east of the show parking, however there are no sanitary or electrical hookups.

The Gaston Good Ol’ Days Parade, sponsored by Bates Farms, starts at 6:30 pm, Friday, August 20.  This event will be followed by the best Steak dinner anywhere, sponsored by the Gaston Market and Gaston Booster Club.
