A Message from the Grand Chancellor. My Mission: Repeat our successes and redirect our efforts so we do not continue practices that do not work. Promote a higher level of communications at the state and local levels through all means available to us. To encourage programs which are based upon our Pythian Principles, and to implement programs aimed at giving our Pythian brothers stronger skills. My Vision: The Grand Lodge of Oregon will by its actions bring about a productive environment which will promote positive growth in the subordinate lodges of Oregon. Plan for success: I encourage every lodge to carefully evaluate the programs they conduct, consider new ideas and continue with the activities that are working. Gather new ideas from the membership to keep a program of activities energized and attractive so that participation comes easy. Motto: Growing the order through membership involvement. Membership: Our strength lies in the talents and efforts of our membership. I challenge every lodge to reinstate inactive members, recruit new members and retain the productive efforts of our existing membership. Revitalization of our programs: How do we revitalize our programs? Following the simple formula of Plan your Work, and Work your plan! Organize the program of work for your lodge by requesting input from your members. Put these ideas into a planned order and then concentrate on carrying out your plan. When you engage your membership with projects that have merit, members will take part, doing something in which they believe. Plan to involve the families of our membership as we promote our families, friends, and community in the programs that we conduct. Recognize efforts and achievements. Remember that “thank you for being there” is important to say and showing appreciation goes a long way in securing further involvement. Plan programs to recognize the outstanding efforts of those who go the extra mile. Their examples help promote success. I am humbled by the position that you have elected me. I am anxious to visit your lodge and learn from you. These are my beliefs and the direction which I hope to take in my year as your Grand Chancellor.
